German postgraduate/education master's adheres to a common European structure that is a part of the Bologna Process. This shows that German master's degrees are considered "second cycle" education, as a bachelor's degree (first cycle) typically comes before the master's program and serves as preparation for a PhD. (third cycle).
The majority of master's programs in Germany are taught courses that include an entire set of academic modules, then an independent project.
Universities in Germany primarily provide courses in the following forms of instruction.
The normal length of a German Master's program is 1.5 or 2 years.
120 ECTS credits will be applied toward the two-year degree. 90 of them are earned through coursework, exams, and modules; the remaining 30 are earned through projects.
A 1.5-year degree will be worth 90 ECTs, further divided into modules, coursework, and other requirements.
